Donowstag: Mute Swimmer

Datum:
04 November
20:30 - 23:30 Uhr

Mute Swimmer is a moniker of British songwriter and visual artist Guy Dale. His music is characterized by a bare intimate style that draws from elements of folk music, minimalism and post-rock in a compelling and often self-reflexive way. He essentially takes the confessional intimacies of the singer-songwriter and re-imagines them through site-specific happening and performance art. Romantic, ironic and hauntingly melancholic by rapid turns, he has quickly earned a reputation as a formidable live performer.

Mute Swimmer has played alongside artists such as Stanley Brinks, David Thomas Broughton, Carla Bozulich, She Keeps Bees, Vio/Miré among many others performing widely in the UK and more recently Europe.

The album Mute Swimmer was released on Woodland Recordings in 2010. Other releases include; Treehouse (2005) under his own name and the E.P’s, Marriage (2007) and 30/01/08 (2009) with the group Funés. He also makes experimental sound works under the name Dala.

CaBoume

Datum:
23 Oktober
20:00 - 23:30 Uhr

This Timeless Group known as CaBoume has been bubbling in Berlin now for three years and a dream.

With its intertwining parts, strong melodies, bangin' rhythms, abstract lyrics, and tight harmonies, this music KICKS AAAAAAAAAAASS!!!
The songs give props to various 20th century's pop and subcultures from around the globe, as well as carrying that special SJWHT flavor.
CaBoume is not virtuosity, it's not struttin' the best equipment, And it SURE ain't recording to perfection from a vacuum cleaned, vaselined, sunscreened, rip-me-off, themusicianshipgetslostintheproduction kind of Studio.

This music is the inbred child of a composer, an illyterate, a second hand store, and a wild yeti.
It's songwritting is catchy, and twisted. And concerts are different each time, stretching, turning, and shooting off in the hills.

raw n' spice
a message with rice
BRING OUT THA MICE,
We're marching down FreaktoooOOOOOOOOOooooown...
